Still Life Study

Image
It's never too late to revisit the basics....I've been needing to do that for some time now, just been hard-pressed for time. This was fun, it took about 3-4 hours to complete, not including the time it took to devour that apple. :3

Liquid Creature- DSG

Image
Ever wonder what would occur if a creature of unknown origin was one day born from an everyday object, in this case a water bottle? Well, there you go, haha, I don't know what I was thinking.

DSG - On The Way Home

Image
Another somewhat of a sketch, for the daily sketch group, just for some practice. I don't do enough aircrafts  so it was a nice change.

DSG_Worm Wrangler

Image
A character made for the daily sketch group over at Conceptart.org. Although it did take me longer than a day to "finish" this, I want to move on to something else...

DSG-Synthetic Worm

Image
An entry for the daily sketch group, I was given a basic idea to do a synthetic worm, and so, I went ahead and made this from the basic idea. I'm not too sure about how the worm turned out though, kind of looks like a train, haha!

Red Hound

Image
The red hound, with red stuff or maybe flames, but anyways, I just wanted to try some practice at doing a walk cycle with a creature with four legs, it's been a long day.

30 Days of 30 Second Gestures - Day 2

Image
Made it to day two! Let me tell you..sometimes these aren't as easy as they look. The trick is finding the line of action, within about 2 seconds of beginning the drawing. Which can be thought of as an imaginary line representing the spine. Then quickly set the positions for the major body parts, the pelvis, torso and head, and so on.

Cyclops

Image
Drawing done for a mythological T-shirt design for Deviantart. I'm thinking of actually putting this on a t-shirt, I wonder if anyone would be interested.

Concept Environments

Image
These were completed for a project I'm doing along with other students in Pre-Production. So far it's been really nice working with others for a common goal. I've been gone for so long due to not even having internet after I recently moved. Then my hard-drive decided to die on me. So it's been quite crazy over the last few weeks. I hope to get fully back on track with the updates. More on this interesting project soon! :)

RPM Energy Drink Animation

Image
Well, back again in full force, well, kinda. Here's a short animation I did in a previous class, advanced animation principles. It was a very fun class actually, learned a lot of new things on animation, like how to really get the feeling of weight in an animation. I also improve a bit more on the timing of movements in an animation.

Z-Depth

If you've been in any math class, I'm sure you'd remember the grid were you plot points, X coordinates go left and right, Y, goes up and down. Then, there's the Z, which goes toward and away from you. So the challenge of this project was to create the feeling of depth in an environment. As if you were traveling into it, I of course, opted to paint all of the visuals myself in photoshop for necessary practice, because I could have used images from the internet instead. I wanted to give the feeling of going into another world, from a room with a broken wall, into a lush forest which leads to temple deep within. I really like how this turned out, and I'd definitely use something like this in any animated series that I'd do, because it truly creates the feeling of depth in the environment. To push it even further, I could have animated elements layered and really broaden the horizons.

Walk + Panning Background

Here's the completed walk cycle, and also a background I painted in photoshop to add into the project. You know, it's always great to have the character's environment to be clearly defined. Having the environment clearly defined, really brings a new element of life and depth into any animation. The quality of my animation has surely improved, I remember the first walk cycle I had to do and it was okay at the time. However, it was very jittery and inconsistent, this one, is so much more consistent and I kind of like the result.

New walk cycle!!

Here's a new walk cycle done for digital ink and paint. It's still kind of rough, but much better than the last attempt. At some point I want to add the inbetweens so that the motion is a lot more smoother than were it's at now. Next I've got to make a background and have the walk cycle play over a panning background. So that should be fun. Another short animation for the same course! A head turn, I did this before the walk cycle and it was earlier in the course. Seeing it now, there's a lot of things about it I would definitely fix and do it again.

Vanilla Sunset

Image
About 2 hours, painted in DrawTweet. It gives me the feeling of being the face of another planet, but who's to say whether I already am or not.

Grassy Valley WIP

Image
Woke up this morning and I decided to work on this a bit, until the calamity of my day ensues progress will be barred. So, now I post the work in progress. I made some huge changes to some areas, on the left side, and down in the valley. There's so many more values and details I want to put in, this might take me a while, before I'm truly satisfied with the result.
