Welcome Back: An Update on My Seemingly Nonexistent Artistic Life

Image
Welcome back to my artist blog! If you're a returning reader, thank you for sticking with me through my extended hiatus. If you're new to my work, allow me to introduce myself: I am an artist specializing in digital art in Clip Studio and my work often explores themes of landscapes with wild, often fantastical themes, I'm also dabbling in 3D and exploring Blender as a means to expand my knowledge in making enticing and beautiful 3D images, and eventually animations.

KICKSTARTER for a project I've helped out on!

I know I've been away for a bit, but I've been as busy as usual. There was a lot of early stage development I couldn't really share freely, but I've been working on designs for this game for a while and even as a gamer, I can honestly say that I've not seen any games like this. I guess you can call it a 2D platformer with resource management elements. Which makes it a completely unique experience! I certainly hope that more people are able to play this and try it out in the near future! I asking for support on this project through the kickstarter and any support will be soooooooo appreciated! Thanks again! :)

Still Life Study

Image
It's never too late to revisit the basics....I've been needing to do that for some time now, just been hard-pressed for time. This was fun, it took about 3-4 hours to complete, not including the time it took to devour that apple. :3

Liquid Creature- DSG

Image
Ever wonder what would occur if a creature of unknown origin was one day born from an everyday object, in this case a water bottle? Well, there you go, haha, I don't know what I was thinking.

A compilation of most of my animations, old and new. :)

DSG - On The Way Home

Another somewhat of a sketch, for the daily sketch group, just for some practice. I don't do enough aircrafts  so it was a nice change.

Watercolors!

Image
I did this a while ago, I meant to upload this but completely forgot! This is on canvas, with watercolors. As you may have noticed, I'm quite new to watercolors, and it was a little tricky to get used to the medium.

DSG_Worm Wrangler

A character made for the daily sketch group over at Conceptart.org. Although it did take me longer than a day to "finish" this, I want to move on to something else...

DSG-Synthetic Worm

Image
An entry for the daily sketch group, I was given a basic idea to do a synthetic worm, and so, I went ahead and made this from the basic idea. I'm not too sure about how the worm turned out though, kind of looks like a train, haha!

Red Hound

Image
The red hound, with red stuff or maybe flames, but anyways, I just wanted to try some practice at doing a walk cycle with a creature with four legs, it's been a long day.

Blowing up the blogosphere!

Image
I know it's been forever since I've updated the blog, so, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and all the good stuff. It's been forever, so I'm throwing out some new sketches, and ideas. Bound to be more on the horizon, let's just hope it's not for another year.  : [

30 Days of gestures! Days 29-30!!

Image
The 30 day challenge is up! I've learned a lot from these days of drawing gestures. While, I feel that I still have a long way to go, I will continue to learn and improve a little more each day. Now, to go and do something completely different.

30 Days of Gestures! Days 21-22

Image
About 8 more days left. Not completely sure I've improved at the gestures so much, but in comparison to day 1, I feel a lot more comfortable within a smaller time frame figuring out the line of motion for each gesture, and my lines do seem a little more confident, with a lot less of the shaky lines while trying to draw the contour correctly. I already know, that after these 30 days are up, there's still going to be a lot more to practice.
